Abilene Residents Die in Callahan County Crash

Two Abilene residents were killed in a pickup versus motorcycle accident 19 miles south of Baird in Callahan County.  The accident happened Friday evening, September 25, 2020 at 6:04 pm.

The deceased were occupants on a 2017 Harley Davidson motorcycle.  Randell L. Myers, 67, and Cynthia D. Myers, 64, both of Abilene were pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the preliminary DPS report, the motorcycle was stopped at a stop sign on FM 2926 and U.S. Highway 283.  A 2014 Toyota pickup, driven by Garrett C. Early, 33, of Kerrville was traveling north on Highway 283.  The motorcycle pulled out wide and in front of the pickup and was struck, killing both driver and passenger on the motorcycle.  Early was not injured.

The crash is under investigation by the DPS.
