The Brown County Sheriff’s Department responded to the following calls.
On 8/11/2020, Sgt. Taylor Fletcher received a report from a man on County Road 232 who stated he did not receive his check from a sheep sale and someone else had already cashed it. A report was made.
On Saturday, August 8, at approximately 12:44, Deputy Scotty Burke met with a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center. This was in reference to a fraud/scam report and investigation on North Highway 183 in May.
On Saturday, August 8, Deputy Jose Rodriguez was waved down by a female subject on Limerick Drive in Brownwood. She stated someone had stolen money from her vehicle. After further investigation, the female subject found her money in a tree next to her residence. A report was made.
On Sunday, August 9, at approximately 13:16 hours, Deputy Scotty Burke spoke with a complainant by phone. This was in reference to a theft report and investigation on County Road 327 in Blanket.
On Sunday, August 9, at about 14:02 hours, Deputy Byron Langley arrived on County Road 188 in Brownwood. This was in regards to illegal dumping. He observed a brown leather and wood couch on the side of the roadway.
On August 7, at around 03:40 hours, Sgt. Taylor Fletcher responded to a report of a burglary in progress on County Road 551. According to the SO report, the suspect, Joshua Hamlett, 27, was actively resistive and was arrested for 2nd Degree Felony Burglary of a Habitation. This was for unlawfully entering the house, taking items from the refrigerator and committing a Class A Misdemeanor Assault Causes Bodily Injury. This was for the injuries sustained during an altercation with the resident. Also, for Class A Misdemeanor Resist Arrest, Search or Transport and State Jail Felony Possession Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1 under 1 gram.

According to Brown County Jail Records, his bonds total $85,000 for all charges. He was still in jail as of August 13, according to jail records.
