The Brownwood City Council Tuesday evening, May 14, approved a park improvement project at Riverside Park.
The Brownwood Municipal Development District Board had approved the project last week and had budgeted up to $100,000 for the improvement at Riverside Park after a request from City Council at a workshop.
The improvements include new playground equipment designed in an outdoor/nature theme that fits well with Riverside Park. A final decision has not been made on what to do with the old play equipment but at least some of it may stay. According to the City of Brownwood, cost for this new play equipment as presented is $99,990.43 which includes installation and a warranty. City Parks and Recreation Department will coordinate with the vendor for installation.
