Brown County officials tell KOXE News that the county IS in compliance with a FEMA grant and not out of compliance.

We spoke by phone late Wednesday morning to David Creed, Brown County Emergency Management Chief, who said Brown County is not in danger of being out of compliance with FEMA.

“I understand there was some miscommunication and mispublication about a grant Brown County is currently working on through FEMA.  It has been reported we were out of compliance and fixing to be about $500,000 in the red with it,” Creed said.

“I wanted to call and let you know we are doing fine with it.  We are NOT out of compliance, we are completely in compliance,” Creed said.

Creed said he is about to send in routine paperwork that is due and added the County doesn’t owe any money to anybody.

As we reported Monday, county officials assure they are working diligently to comply with FEMA requirements.
