
Hilda Ramirez, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, peacefully departed this life on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo, Texas. Born on November 8, 1928, in Coleman, Texas, Hilda led a life filled with love, service, and devotion to her family and faith.
A proud graduate of her education in Mexico, Hilda enriched the lives of those around her with her nurturing spirit and passion for homemaking. Hilda married Julian Ramirez on November 27, 1948, in Coleman, creating a loving partnership that lasted until his passing. Together, they built a family that she cherished deeply, often reflecting her pride in being a devoted wife and mother.
Hilda’s dedication extended beyond her family. She found fulfillment in her work as a housekeeper for Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she was an active participant in the community, contributing her time and talent by serving with the Guadalupana’s and Cursillista. Her faith was an anchor in her life, guiding her values and her commitment to helping others.
In her leisure time, Hilda enjoyed knitting, an activity that allowed her to express her creativity while crafting gifts of love for her family. She delighted in spending quality time with them, her family being at the heart of her happiness.
Hilda is survived by her two children, Mary Alicia Kotasek and Joe Henry Ramirez, both of San Angelo. She is also remembered fondly by her three grandchildren, Benny Ramirez, Amada Johnson, and Cristina Castanon; her three great-grandchildren, Juliana Castanon, Skylah Ramirez, and Gianna Ramirez; and her one great-great-grandchild, Lu’a Ramirez.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Francisco Irugas and Amada Cortez Irugas; her loving husband, Julian Ramirez; and her siblings, Tomas Irugas, Jose Irugas, Maria De Jesus Ramirez, and Juanita Valdez.
The family will host a visitation from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 W. Pecan Street in Coleman. Recital of the Holy Rosary will follow at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 303 E. College Avenue, in Coleman with Father Thomas Kalambadan officiating. Interment will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman.
