10 Lions earn all-district soccer honors

Ten members of the Brownwood Lions soccer team received all-district accolades from the coaches of 5-4A.

Superlative honors were earned by goalkeeper Hudson Fry as Freshman of the Year, while Malakai Wyatt was named Co-Defensive Newcomer of the Year.

First-team selections included Aidan Pena and Jermiah Chacon while landing on the second team were Raven Prado, Isaac Morales and Jose Rodriguez. Honorable mention recipients included Stephen Rodriguez, Eliuth Valenciano, and Arturo Vaquera.

The Academic All-District roster for Brownwood featured Hudson Fry, Jose Rodriguez, Juan Cervantes, Bennett Windham, Hayden Padgett, Aidan Pena, and Raven Prado.

The Lions finished the season with a 7-12-2 overall record and placed fourth in the District 5-4A standings under head coach Michael Westerman, but advanced to the regional semifinals in the playoffs, earning bi-district and area championships along the way.
