Billy Michael Back, a devoted Christian and resident of Early, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2025, at the age of 79. He was born on August 28, 1945, in Brownfield, Texas, to Willie Floyd (Bill) and Lula Louise Back. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Marie, in September of 2022, and by his two sons, Curtis and Kyle Back, as well as his parents, Bill and Louise, and his brothers, David Floyd and Brandon Back.

Immediately after graduating high school, Billy proudly served his country in the United States Army. Upon his return, he demonstrated a remarkable aptitude for various trades. He began his working life as a skilled mechanic, followed by a period building houses as a talented carpenter.
Ultimately, Billy found his professional calling and greatest enjoyment in electrical work, where he excelled as an electrician.
Above all else, Billy was a truly devoted Christian. His love for God was the cornerstone of his life, and he dedicated countless hours to prayer and reading his Bible each day. He carried a deep burden for the salvation of others, diligently making lists of individuals, both known and unknown to him, and lifting each one by name in prayer. He once shared that he had been praying for some individuals for over 20 years, a testament to his unwavering faith and commitment. He continued this faithful practice until his final days, and it would not be surprising if he continues his prayers for them in his heavenly home.
Billy is survived by his sister, Rebecca Beakley; his brothers, Jerry and Jonathon Back; his daughter, Lesa Back Kidd and her husband Robby; his daughter, Misty Back Hutchens and her husband Theron; many cherished nieces and nephews; his grandchildren, Allen and David Kidd, Robbie, Nathan, Maranda and Jacob, and Colby, Matthew, Victoria, Avery, Micah and Silas and numerous great-grandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate Billy’s life will be held at Christ Today Revival Center, located at 3001 Coggin Ave., Brownwood, Texas 76801, on Saturday, April 12th, 2025, at 4:00 p.m.
Billy will be deeply missed by his loving family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His dedication to his faith and his compassionate heart left a lasting impact on those around him.
