
GRAHAM – The Brownwood Lady Lions generated 70 points in just five events during Wednesday’s first day of the District 6-4A track and field meet, and owned a 45-point advantage over the nearest competitor – host Graham – heading into Thursday’s final day of action.
Meanwhile, the Brownwood Lions produced 3 points, while the JV Lady Lions amassed 28 points and are in third place while the JV Lions chalked up 24 points and are in fourth place.
The Lady Lions have also secured eight berths to the 5-4A/6-4A area meet in Abilene on Thursday, April 10 already, as the top four finishers in each event advance.
Highlights from Wednesday’s action include district championships for Hannah Deen in both the high jump (5-4) and triple jump (35-9.75), Sidney Windham in the 3200 meters (11:36.7) and Grace Sparks in the pole vault (11-3).
