The Brownwood Community Chorus will present their 6th annual HymnSing concert on Tuesday, April 8 at 7:30 p.m. in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church Brownwood. The Brownwood Community Chorus is comprised of Howard Payne University students and local musicians.
“The choir has been working diligently to present this concert since the onset of the spring semester,” said Dr. Chris Rosborough ’08, director of choral activities and chair of the Department of Music. “It is sure to be a beautiful evening of worship for the community.”
Dr. Rosborough has programmed a broad sweep of styles and genres within an extensive body of hymns for the church. The goal of this concert is to cultivate the tradition of congregational singing in an environment that can be enjoyed together.
Diane Deatherage, staff accompanist and rehearsal pianist for the ensemble, will accompany on piano and organ. She will be joined by Cody Hutcheson, instructor of piano and theory at HPU, on piano.
