
Mrs. Mary June Stalcup passed from this life to the arms of Jesus on Friday, March 21, 2025 at 11:20 am at the Holiday Hill Nursing Home in Coleman at the age of ninety-one years.
A visitation will be held Saturday, March 29th from 10:00 till 11:30 am at Henderson Funeral Home in Coleman. Services will follow at Burkett Cemetery Pavilion at 3:00 pm with interment to follow. Bro. Gary Bear will officiate with services under the care and direction of Henderson Funeral Home Staff.
She was born Mary June Sisemore on May 3, 1933 in Lafayette. Georgia, one of 11 siblings to her loving parents Henry Wallace and Mary Viola Baron Sisemore. (Mary) June was raised and attended schools in Hale Center, Texas graduating from Hale Center High School.
On February 5, 1955 June married her love, best friend and life partner Billy Harold Stalcup in Cotton Center, Texas and they celebrated 62 years of marriage. To this union they shared four children, much love and hard work side by side. Billy preceded her in death on January 3, 2018.
June and her family became proud members of the Burkett community in 1979, dedicating their lives to farming and ranching. June found joy in her farm work during her younger years, proving her skill by hoeing and picking cotton alongside the best. Her love for cooking and baking shone through in the exceptional meals she prepared, delighting and spoiling her family with her culinary talents. She ensured her recipes were passed down, preserving her legacy for future generations.
An enthusiastic gardener, June cultivated a lush vegetable garden that provided ingredients for unforgettable meals. After each meal, she would lead walks through her vibrant flower garden, showcasing its beauty. Her talents extended beyond the kitchen and garden—she was admired for her sewing, crocheting, and knitting, always eager to teach anyone interested in learning these crafts.
Once the day’s work was done, June found simple pleasures in leisurely walks around the ranch, collecting petrified wood, unique rocks, and intriguing pieces of wood. These cherished activities created memories that will forever remain in the hearts of her loved ones.
June is proceeded in death by her parents, seven brothers and three sisters making her the last of her parents children. She is survived by three daughters, Judy & husband René Aerdts of Plano, TX; Deborah & husband Garry Cox of Coleman, TX; Donna & husband David Crofford of Scottsdale, AZ and one son David & wife Glacia Stalcup of Coleman, TX. 11 Grandchildren, Alisha, Jeanette, Brandon, Matt, Holly, Lauren, Kristin, Jordan, Chaeli, Brody, and Billy Blake. 11 Great Grandchildren, Marlee, Brayden, Ryder, Brea, Bailee, Rylan, Harper, Cooper, Sophie, Jenny, and Allie. 5 sister-in-laws and numerous nieces and nephews.
