Jerry Don Loyd, age 67, passed away March 17, 2025, in Brownwood, Tx. Jerry was born on July 19, 1957, to William and Wanda Loyd in Brownwood, Tx.

He graduated from Brownwood High School in 1975, where he played football under the legendary Coach Gordon Wood.

On September 3, 1983, Jerry married the love of his life, Cora Loyd, and together they built a beautiful family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Jerry dedicated 44 and a half years of service to the Brown County Water Improvement District #1, where he was a valued employee and made many lifelong friends. His kindness, humor, and dedication to his family and community will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his children: Maudie Ann Cadena of Indiana, Jerry Don Loyd Jr. of Brownwood, and Shasta Michelle Loyd of Brownwood. He was also a proud grandfather to four amazing grandchildren: Mckenzie Lyn Loyd of Waco, Eli Parker Loyd of Waco, Anna Marie Nance of Bangs, and Christopher Shane Nance of Bangs. Jerry is also survived by his sister, Cindy Driver of Bangs, and his brother, Marle David Loyd of Dale, Tx. He leaves behind several beloved nephews, nieces, and three great-nieces.

A visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2024, at Blaylock Funeral Home in Brownwood. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel in Brownwood. Interment will be directly after the service at the Bangs Cemetery.
