
Clifton Clyde McCarley, age 54, of Northlake, Texas, passed away Monday, February 17, 2025 in Dallas, Texas. Cliff was born on September 2, 1970 to M. Clyde McCarley and Betty Sue (Boyls) McCarley. He grew up in Victoria and graduated from Victoria High School. He was very active in Boy Scouts and was an Eagle Scout. He attended Philmont Boy Scout Ranch when he was 18 years old and accomplished the 50 Mile Hike. At the age of 20, he was an apprentice with a ferrier. He attended Southwest Texas State University. He worked as a salesman, selling motorcycles and then cars. He was a wonderful cook, loved to travel, play video games and listen to music. He loved his jeep, hunting, fishing and floating the river in San Marcos with his daughter Madison, who was the apple of his eye.
Funeral services for Clifton Clyde McCarley will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels in Brady. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels. Friends may view and/or sign Cliff’s online memorial guest book at www.leatherwoodmemorialchapels.com. Pallbearers will be Wes McCarley, Caden McCarley, Gage McCarley, Darren McCarley, Mark Moore, Maverick Moore, and Ben Stillwagon. Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan Pedersen and Matthew Crouse.
Cliff is survived by his parents, M. Clyde and Betty Sue McCarley of Brady, Texas; his ex-wife and mother of his daughter Laura McCarley of Denton, Texas; girlfriend Cassandra Helmrick of Northlake, Texas; his loving daughter Madison McCarley of Denton, Texas; brothers Wes McCarley and his wife Regina of Florence, Texas and Darren McCarley and wife Suzi of Weatherford, Texas and sister Suzanne McCarley Moore and husband Mark of Hutto, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.
