At approximately 10:30 p.m. Saturday, the back wall of the Pearl Cactus Steakhouse & Saloon – the second-oldest building in Blanket, constructed in 1901 – unexpectedly collapsed.

At the time, an estimated 15 staff members were inside the restaurant, but no injuries were reported.

As of noon Sunday, the cause for the collapse was undetermined and the Pearl Cactus will be closed indefinitely.

The future of the restaurant, as well as the building, were unknown Sunday, according to management.
