GATESVILLE – The Brownwood Lady Lions soccer team chalked up its third consecutive District 5-4A victory with an 8-0 road triumph over Gatesville Friday.
The Lady Lions (13-3-1, 3-0) scored five goals in the first half and three in the second, as Alma Bernal, Isabella Garza and Nylah Hall each found the net twice. Nixon Johnson and Madison Weckworth also recorded goals.
Bernal was also credited with three assists while Hall, Garza, Weckwerth, Rylie Schaffer and Khloe Galvan chipped in one each.
In goal, Noemi Ceniceros recorded the 12th shutout of the season for Brownwood, which hosts Stephenville at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
