The Brownwood Fire Department issued the following press release regarding a structure fire this past Saturday:
At approximately 4:59 a.m. Saturday morning, the Brownwood Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 605 3rd Street. Firefighters arrived on the scene within minutes and observed significant smoke and flames coming from the structure. The fire was quickly brought under control, and no injuries were reported. The occupants of the home were safely evacuated prior to the fire department’s arrival. Following a thorough investigation, the cause of the fire has been determined to be electrical in nature. The home suffered significant damage.
Brownwood units C92, C93, T9, R9, E92 responded with assistance from Early E88, C8, Lifeguard, Oncor, BPD, Red Cross.
It took an hour and 7 minutes to contain the fire and units were on scene for 2 hours and 41 minutes. There were no injuries reported.
