Bernice (McCaulley) Wagers, age 90, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 21,2024 in Brownwood. The family will host a celebration of life for Bernice at a later date.

Bernice was born on July 21, 1934 in Edmond, Oklahoma to the late William Ady McCaulley and Eva McCaulley. Bernice was a long time resident of Brownwood, and a pillar of her community. She loved spending time with family and friends, was always willing to assist others, and loved coordinating church functions. She loved cooking, playing cards and dominoes, and shopping. She had a business (Haney Tile) with her husband and spent her later years in service as Church Secretary/Treasurer for the First Baptist Church of Brownwood.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Steven L. Haney, her second husband Edward Wagers, her son Stevie and son William.

Our loving Bernice; mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend has gone to be with Jesus. We will remember her always and miss her so much. Bernice is survived by her beloved daughter, Susan Messner, her granddaughters Tanya Paonessa and husband Frank, Darcy Boesch and husband Jason, and their families, her brother George McCaulley and wife Carolyn, many nieces and nephews.
