Lions drop finale of Brady tournament to Blanco, 46-41

BRADY – A nine-point halftime lead slipped away from the Brownwood Lions, who dropped their finale at the Brady basketball tournament to Blanco, 46-41, Saturday morning.

The Lions led 15-7 after one quarter and 27-18 at halftime, but scored just three points in third period and 14 the entire second half. Blanco (8-2) seized a 31-30 edge going into the fourth quarter and was able to extend the lead down the stretch.

Brownwood received 13 points from Casey Friebel, 10 from Ross Strasner, nine from Bennett Windham, six from Durham Brown, and three points from Elias Perez.

Brownwood (11-5) is back in action at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Burnet.
