The Bangs Dragons received 10 all-district football accolades from the coaches of District 5-2A Division I, as the selections were revealed following district champion Hamilton’s loss in the state semifinals to Stamford Thursday night.
Chosen for the first-team from Bangs was outside linebacker Cason Tidwell (70.5 tackles, 4 for loss, 1 sack, 1 fumble recovery).
Landing on the second-team were Tidwell at receiver (21-265, 5 TDs), offensive linemen Haydon Bush and Kian Kelly (22 points and 243 yards – 174 rushing and 69 passing – per game), Skylar Minshew as utility player and punter (360 rushing yards, 3 TDs; 444 passing yards, 5 TDs; 17 tackles, 1 for loss, 1 sack), defensive lineman Noah Castillo (17 tackles, 3 for loss, 2 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries, 1 defensive TD), inside linebacker Hunter Crowell (75.5 tackles, 5 for loss, 1 fumble recovery), defensive back Conner Bible (37.5 tackles, 4 for loss, 3 sacks, 1 interception, 1 fumble recovery), and utility player Aden Jones (320 rushing yards, 4 TDs; 5-60, 2 TDs receiving; 32.5 tackles).
Castillo was also academic all-state honorable mention.
The Dragons finished the season with a 2-8 overall record and 0-5 district mark in their first campaign under head coach Colton Buzzard.
