Melinda “Rayna” Ann Yendrey, of Lampasas, Texas, passed away on November 23, 2024, at the age of 57. She was born on December 10, 1966, in Edna, Texas to parents Jimmy and Elizabeth Yendrey.

Rayna was a loving mother, grandmother, and dedicated professional. She is survived by her brother, Eric Yendrey and wife Kelly Yendrey; children, Preston Jensen and wife Cheri Jensen and Diane Jensen; her cherished grandchildren, Bennet Jensen, Jade McCoy, Lucas Jensen, Summer McCoy, Londyn McCoy, Blaze McCoy and step-grandchildren, Erin Ryan and Becca Nobles. She was preceded in death by her parents and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

A proud career woman, Rayna worked as an FDA inspector, a role that reflected her strong sense of duty and conscientious nature. But above all, Rayna’s greatest passions were her family and her love for wildlife. She had a deep connection to the natural world, which she passed down to her children and grandchildren. Rayna was known for her creativity, resilience, and independence, always seeking to preserve and share the knowledge and wisdom passed down through generations.

Her warmth, attentiveness, and dedication to those she loved created an enduring legacy. Rayna had a knack for bringing people together and making every moment special. Whether it was caring for her family, tending to the wildlife she adored, or simply sharing a quiet story, Rayna’s impact on the lives of those who knew her will never be forgotten.

A viewing will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel, 201 E. 3rd St., Lampasas, TX, 76550, on Friday, December 6, 2024 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.. A gathering with light refreshments will follow at 8293 CR 3420, Lampasas, TX, 76550, where friends and family are invited to share memories and celebrate Rayna’s life. Please bring photos and stories to honor her legacy.

Rayna’s family expresses their deepest gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this time of loss. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a wildlife conservation charity or any cause close to Rayna’s heart.
