Ruby Mae Bond, a beloved member of the Wimberly, Texas community, passed away on October 5, 2024, at the age of 73. Born on July 29, 1951, in Lea County, New Mexico, Mae dedicated her life to serving the Lord, her family, and her community.
Mae was a proud graduate of Winters High School and carried a spirit of service throughout her life, having honor served in the United States Army. Her to her community was palpable, and she was known for her generous heart and unwavering faith.
Her passion for music was evident through her enjoyment of performing and playing the Singing Bowls, bringing joy and tranquility to those around her. Mae’s legacy is one of love, compassion, and strength, traits she instilled in her family.
She leaves behind two children, Alicia Mae and husband Jay Horn, and Fritz Bond and wife Krystal. Mae cherished her role as a grandmother to two grandchildren, Kai Horn and Kennedy Horn. She is also survived by two brothers, Mike Bowers and wife Mary Ann, and Ronny Gann and wife Cindy; her aunt, Dorithy Roberts; as well as extended family members Larry Smith and wife Pam, Bruce Roberts and wife Rhonda, Debra Kelly, and Betty Roberts. Additionally, Mae held dear the extended family of Harold and Laquita Shelburne, Fred Wilder, and Andy Gann and wife Elvia.
Mae is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Lou Roberts Bowers, and her grandparents, Joe and Ruby Roberts.
A memorial service will be held in her honor on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 2 PM, at North Coleman Baptist Church, located at 515 Church Street, in Coleman with Rev. Jeff Dean officiating. The service will provide family and friends an opportunity to celebrate Mae’s life and share cherished memories.
Mae Bond will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her unwavering faith and loving nature. Her spirit will continue to shine through the lives she touched.
