It is with great sadness that the family of Joni Morgan announce her sudden passing on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at the age of 62.

Joni was born on October 7, 1962 in Brownwood, Texas to Joyce and J. Frank Weathers.

Joni attended school in Santa Anna where she participated in basketball and cheer. It is also where she met her high school sweetheart and husband for many years, Kevin Morgan Sr. Together Joni and Kevin had two children, Kevin, Jr. and Kourtney.

Joni dedicated herself to her family, embracing the role of a homemaker with love and devotion. She found joy in the simplest of moments, whether it was cooking and baking for her loved ones, hosting a family gathering, gardening, enjoying trips to Oklahoma City or maintaining a meticulously clean home. Her love for her dog and cherished date nights with Clayton were just a few of the many joys that brought her happiness.

A grandmother to her adored grandsons, Joni treasured one-on-one time with them and found delight in their simple text messages. Her kind heart extended beyond her family as she was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need or provide a positive outlook on any situation. She was known for being selfless, and always putting others before herself.

Joni will be lovingly remembered by her children, Kevin Morgan Jr. and Kourtney Hamilton and husband, Nathan, their father, Kevin Morgan, Sr. and her cherished grandchildren, Kash Morgan, Logan Hamilton and Liam Hamilton, along with her beloved dog, Bella.

She also leaves behind her long-time companion and soul mate, Clayton McGarraugh and his family, including Casey, Ashlee, John, Brandon, Raelee, Charlee and Ashton, whom she loved as her own. Joni is also survived by her mother, Joyce McKenney and her siblings Jay Weathers, Sue Hall, Janis Weathers, Jackie Miller and Jill Bloomer, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends who will miss her dearly.

Joni was preceded in death by her father, J. Weathers, as well as her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Joni will be remembered by her grandsons for her infectious spirit, playful demeanor, and for being their biggest and loudest fan in all their endeavors, whether near or far. She is deeply missed but fondly remembered. Her legacy of love and joy will forever remain and live on in the hearts of those who knew her and loved her.

In honor of Joni’s life, we invite all who knew and loved her to celebrate her memory and the joy she brought into our lives. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 25, 2024, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman, with Mr. David Wallace officiating.
