James ‘JH’ Henry Sellers, 86

James “J H” Henry Sellers, 86, of Bangs, Texas passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2024. A visitation will be held with family at Heartland Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, October 17, 2024 and a Graveside service will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, October 18, 2024 in the Bangs Cemetery with Brian Hall officiating.

JH was born September 12, 1938 to Oliver Lofton and Annie (Holloway) Sellers in Palo Pinto, Texas. He attended school in Goldthwaite and worked for Superior Cable. JH married Elon Faye Patton on March 26, 1960 and they were blessed with 3 children. JH loved to do Taxidermy, he was skilled in this art and enjoyed what he did. He also loved to go hunting, fishing and motorcycles. From riding highway bikes on a trip to racing dirt bikes on a track, JH enjoyed two wheels. He started his son racing when James was only 8 years old. JH rebuilt a 1917 Dodge Touring car and attended Hot Rod car shows. He played the bongos in worship at Haven of Hope Church in Brownwood. JH loved his little farm where he raised deer, chickens, turkeys and goats. Many family get togethers were held and JH was very involved in his children and grandchildren’s lives.

JH is survived by his wife, Elon Faye Sellers of Bangs; sons, James Sellers and wife Andrea of Lake Brownwood & Jimmy Sellers of Bangs; granddaughters, Shandelyn Dickey and husband Mikel of Lake Brownwood, Tiffanie Sellers and husband Shane of Brownwood, Brandi Sellers of Bangs, Danielle Ross and husband Trey of El Paso; grandsons, Cody Sellers of Fort Worth, Christopher Sellers and wife Tashana of Fort Worth, Jr Sellers of Fort Worth, Dustan Purcella and wife Tracy of Comanche, Greg Purcella and wife Jahleel of Comanche; 15 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, friends and church family.

JH was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Glen Sellers; brother, Ray Sellers; and his parents, Oliver and Annie Sellers.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to Heartland Funeral Home to assist in the preparation of funeral arrangements and thank you in advance for you love and support.
