Jeremiah was born on May 2, 1990, in San Antonio, Texas, to Yvonne Johnson Perez. His family later moved to Brown County where he graduated from Bangs High School. During those years, he honed his love for athletics while participating in football and powerlifting. Jeremiah’s love for adventure extended beyond athletic passions to the great outdoors where he thrived in rugged landscapes and in pushing the limits of his physical endurance while endeavoring to build greater strength and agility.
Jeremiah’s athleticism was evident in his mastery of boxing, Mixed Martial Arts, and Jiu-Jitsu, where his balance, speed, and power were on full display. His commitment to fitness went beyond the superficial, as it was rooted in a desire for self-discipline and mental clarity. He was known for carrying a gallon of water, maintaining peak hydration, and enjoying nutritious proteins in quality steak dinners, which reflected his dedication to a healthy lifestyle.
Jeremiah felt a deep love for his country and possessed a commitment to freedom which embodied his strength of character and core values. Therefore, he proudly joined the United States Marine Corps, serving five years. His national and global deployments included San Diego and Afghanistan. After completing military service, Jeremiah returned to utilize his skills in the family business before ultimately finding his passion in the Texas oil field, where he rose to the position of Driller Team Leader.
In 2015, Jeremiah’s life was greatly blessed with the birth of his beloved daughter, Audrey Ruth Johnson. She immediately became the light of his life, developing in him a deeper love than he ever imagined could be possible. Jeremiah fully devoted himself to being a strong, supportive father and to ensuring Audrey would always recognize her strengths, talents, and unique qualities. He desired that she always know she deserves respect, positive treatment, and being valued for who she is. This precious child captured his heart with bright blue eyes and a sassy, playful personality. Creating beautiful memories with Audrey on countless adventures ranked at the top of his life’s accomplishments.
Jeremiah was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Abel and Naomi Ortega; grandparents, Charles and Ruth Johnson; and cousins, Lisa Johnson Colley and Matthew Johnson.
He is survived by his parents, Arthur and Yvonne Perez, along with his grandparents, Joe and Mary Perez. Jeremiah’s legacy lives on through his cherished daughter, Audrey Ruth Johnson, and his memory will continue to inspire siblings: Briannah Sosa, Efrayin Guerrero (Brooke), Tina Perez, Brandy Perez, Angelica Perez, and Madalyn Perez. Additionally, Jeremiah’s kindness, strength, and infectious laughter touched the lives of countless cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
