Tommy ‘Tom Mac’ Connelly passed to be with his Lord Jesus at the age of 77 years on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at 4:50 am at Hendricks Impatient Hospice in Abilene, Texas.
He was born Tommy Mac Connelly on June 4, 1947 in Brownwood, Texas to Tommie Jerald and Bobbie Jean Watson Connelly. Tommy was raised in Coleman County in the Burkett area and graduated from Coleman High School in 1965. He continued his education at Tarelton State University receiving his Bachelors and Masters of Science Teaching. He used his degrees as an Ag Science and FFA teacher who was much loved by his students at Coleman High School until his retirement. Some of their comments “Many memories with Tom Mac. Will miss him dearly”. “Sad day! I have lots of good memories with Tom Mac, he was a good guy.” And “He was always very kind to me, even though I never took an Ag Class with him.” He was well loved by his students as they realized he was teaching them more than ag but how to live life by his example. After retirement he was an active real estate agent serving his many friends in our community.
On June 8, 1969 Tommy married his love Linda Paulette Puckett in Coleman, Texas and they have celebrated 56 years of marriage. Tommy served his country and the great state of Texas through the Texas National Guard and was a member of First Baptist Church. He was an active member of the Men’s Downtown Sunday School Class which he loved attending, Coleman Rodeo Association and State Board of Vocational Ag Teachers.

Tommy was preceded in death by father Tommie J. Connelly in 2003 mother Bobbie Collett in 2004, nephew Clint Connelly 2016 and nephew Chance Connelly in 2020.
