Elizabeth Ann Ballew Singleton was reunited with the love of her life, Johnny Singleton and her Lord Jesus on Wednesday, September 26, 2024, in Brownwood. Liz was born on October 21, 1950, in Frost, Texas to Robert and Edna Ballew, and completed their family as baby number three. She married Johnny Singleton on May 29, 1971, in Frost. They were blessed with Johnna D’Lynn, Beth Ann and Melissa Kay and Liz was blessed to be able to stay home and raise her girls. She loved being a mother, a preacher and teacher spouse and supported Johnny anywhere they were. After her girls graduated Liz took time for herself and went back to school and got her nursing degree in 2000 and loved taking care of geriatrics but found her purpose as a school nurse. It was during this time that she found her greatest passion as title of GMomma to Benjamin, Bethany, and Bree and MoMo to Caden. This quickly became her name to all the children who knew her. Johnny and Liz spent forty-eight wonderful years together until his passing on August 25, 2019 and then Liz retired from nursing. She then filled her days being able to care for Royce and Lillie Lawrence along with Brooklyn Greenfield, being able to do this was the light in Liz’s life since her grandchildren were grown. Shortly after Johnny’s passing Liz lost her best friend, older sister Leah Ballew Greenup which left a huge hole in her heart.

Left to cherish Liz’s sweet memory are Johnna, Ben, Bethany, and Bree Boucher of Rising Star; Beth and Troy Wilson and Caden Pate of Tolar, Melissa and Tim Trigg of Rising Star. Her brother Robert Ballew and wife Velma of Frost, brother-in-law Wayne Greenup of Canyon, brother-in-law Robert Singleton and wife Martha of Mildred, brother-in-law Nelson Galloway and wife Wanda, and her “other daughter” Liz Phillips and spouse Bobby, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family that she loved deeply. Liz treated everyone she met with a mother’s heart. She was a great cook, and even better prayer warrior and will be sorely missed.

Liz made it clear that she didn’t want a big deal made about her, only to be at rest by Johnny. There will be a visitation on Saturday 9/28/2024 6-8pm at Heartland Funeral Home followed by a graveside on Sunday, September 29, 2024, 2:00pm at Providence Cemetery in Navarro County.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that you show a caring heart like Gmomma would and leave people better than you found them.
