Lady Lions place fifth at cross country state meet preview

ROUND ROCK – Seven Brownwood Lady Lions ran personal best times, and the team earned a fifth-place finish at the Round Rock McNeil Invitational Friday morning, which took place at the site of the UIL Cross Country State Championships at Old Settlers Park.

Sidney Windham led the charge for the Lady Lions in 15th place with a time of 12:11.1, followed closely by Kate Tindol in 16th time place, clocked at 12:11.7, along with Talia Craff (73rd, 13:04.5), Rebekkah Delgado (81st, 13:08.5), Haylee Adkins (13:17.8), Khloe Galvan (100th, 13:22.7), Kylea Karnes (106th, 12:38.0), Joclyn Salazar (13:45.7), and Lyndi Biasiolli (213th, 14:24.7).

Brownwood finished with 257 points and an average time of 12:46.7 per runner, which trailed only meet champion Canyon (38, 11:51.2), Holliday (90, 12:09.9), Salado (91, 12:14.5), and Sanger (174, 12:33.3). Canyon is the lone member of the top four that will compete against the Lady Lions in Region I-4A, and the top four teams from each region advance to state.
