The Brookesmith Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual fish fry and dessert auction Saturday, Sept. 14.

The Community Center dedication will take place at 4 p.m. followed by the fish fry at 5 p.m. and the auction at 5:45 p.m. The cost of the event is a donation.

The Community Center, located next to the Brookesmith Volunteer Fire Department, has been built with the help of a generous donation by the Intersect Power Company. Additional funding was provided by a grant from the Lower Colorado River Authority, and the families of James Bradley and Oneta Burch donated land for the parking lot.

Chip Barker of Chipster’s Grill will be catering fish, chicken strips and sides.

The Brookesmith VFD is updating its personal protection/communication equipment as well as performing maintenance on current fire trucks to keep them in running shape.

If you are unable to attend and would like to send a donation, mail a check to Brookesmith VFD, P.O. Box 713, Brookesmith, TX 76827.
