Anna-Lee Jones, 78

Anna-Lee Villalpando Jones, 78 of Santa Anna, Texas passed into the arms of her loving Savior on August 30th, 2024. She was born in Brady, Texas on November 22, 1945 to parents Hilario Duarte Aguirre and Petra Carrasco Aguirre. Anna was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, sister, wife and friend. She believed in her Lord Jesus Christ with all her heart.

Anna was raised in Brownwood, Texas into a large family of 7 sisters and 4 brothers. She married Benjamin Hernandez Villalpando and together they had two children. Daughter Evelyn Lee Villalpando (husband Mario Armendarez), son Daniel Aguirre Villalpando (wife Cheryl Villalpando).She later remarried to Danny R. Jones and moved to Santa Anna in 2005.

Anna’s Father Hilario always stressed the importance of education to his children. But it was not until Anna attended a Teacher’s Conference in Brownsville, TX that she saw many educated Latina women making a difference in the world of education. After that she decided to pursue her education at age 40 to obtain her GED and enroll at Howard Payne University. She went on to obtain her Master of Education -Counseling from Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas. Anna was a very driven and determined woman who obtained her college degrees while working a full time job.

Before retiring Anna had a passion to help others and worked at: Child Protective Services, Taylor Counseling Group in San Saba, The Dove Project, Diamond Healthcare Services as a Therapist and lastly as the Municipal Court Judge in Santa Anna, TX.

Anna was very active in her community and she joined the American Legion Auxiliary in Bangs as President. At the time her son Danny had been serving in the Army and felt she wanted to support our troops. In Brownwood she was also a past member of the Brownwood Lions Evening Club, Elks Lodge, Historical Society, and Salvation Army and volunteered at Good Samaritan. In Santa Anna she was a member of the Court Clerk Organization and member of the Judge’s Organization. She was a strong Christian and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Santa Anna.

Anna loved her family and enjoyed the Aguirre Family reunions, sister weekends and holiday celebrations, most of all she loved the Lord.

Anna will be remembered as a very loving and kind Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, sister, wife and friend. She was a woman of great Faith in God and HE ordered her steps in life.

She is survived by her two children-Evelyn Villalpando (Fort Worth) and Danny Villalpando (Brownwood).  Spouse- Danny R. Jones, her grandchildren Megan Villalpando (Virginia), Cory Villalpando (Early) spouse Ashleigh Villalpando. Great Grandchild-Alexis Villalpando

Brothers and sisters are Mary Esther Aguirre, Alesia A. Jones, Alexandra Laing, Aline Hollingsworth, Alva Aguirre-Farmer, Amanda Aguirre Brunson, Agoberto Donnell and Amadello Aguirre. Deceased siblings are: Angelica Hernandez McClanahan, Arnulfo Ray Aguirre and Alonzo Wayne Aguirre.

Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm on Friday, Sept 6th at Santa Anna Henderson Funeral Home in Santa Anna. Church services will be held at First Baptist Church of Santa Anna and administered by Pastor David McClane at 10:30 am on Saturday, Sept 7th; burial will follow immediately after at the Rockwood Cemetery in Rockwood, Texas
