The City of Early Police Department posted the following information on its Facebook page Thursday morning:
Unauthorized Individuals Posing as Oncor Employees
The Early Police Department has received reports of individuals going door-to-door claiming to be from Oncor and conducting meter inspections. These individuals may request your phone number, saying their supervisor will contact you to schedule an appointment.
Important: We have confirmed with Oncor that they do not send employees out randomly to check meters. Oncor only responds to official work orders. Authentic Oncor employees will always have:
– An Oncor shirt and reflective jacket
– A visible Oncor vehicle
What You Should Do:
– Do not provide personal information to these individuals.
– If someone approaches you claiming to be from Oncor and does not meet the above criteria, contact your local law enforcement immediately.
