Billy Cloyd Little, 44, passed away unexpectedly in Colorado Springs, Colorado on August 7, 2024.

Billy was born April 5, 1980 in Coleman, Texas. Raised by his parents Danny Thompson and Gaylene Little Thompson, Billy graduated from Coleman High School in 1998 and received his bachelor’s degree in special education from Western Governors University. Billy’s greatest love was spending time with his family. He bragged about his wife and kids and often talked about how lucky he was to have them. Billy married his best friend Dana in 2010 and began working as a special education paraprofessional in Georgetown, Texas. He had an amazing talent for building positive relationships and helping students. Billy set a goal to earn his degree and become a certified special education teacher.

Billy and Dana moved the family to Colorado Springs in 2018 where he finished his degree and began his teaching career. He was loved by staff and students alike at Mountain Vista Community School and Atlas Middle School. Billy was an advocate for every student and taught us all about love and acceptance, being true to ourselves, and doing what makes us happy. He never stopped fighting for what was right. Billy always set goals for himself and encouraged his students to do the same. He was always there to pick you up when you were down or celebrate your success. His kind heart and giant personality touched so many lives.

Billy was a fiercely loyal friend to those close to him. He could always be counted on for encouragement and his generosity knew no bounds. His friends and family are devastated by his passing. It has left an enormous hole in the lives of those he impacted.

Billy is preceded in death by his grandparents Offie “Bill” Little, Ada and Leon McCutchen, David and Ruby Thompson, his aunt Jeannie Guerrero, and his uncles Kenny Little and Steve Cathey

He is survived by his wife of 14 years Dana Eckols Little, sons Cameron and Tyler Smith, bonus daughters Idela Brooks and Serenity Bast, parents Danny and Gaylene Thompson, brother Tony Thompson, sister and brother-in-law Christi and Zac Dillon, nephews Beaux and Braxton Dillon, in-laws Joe and Jan Eckols, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Jessica and Kevin Diaz, niece and nephew Kayla and Kyle Eckols, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Special thanks to Billy’s many friends, coworkers, and students for their outpouring of support and kind words. GO NINERS!
