Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller to speak at PVRW luncheon Aug. 15

Sid Miller, Texas Agriculture Commissioner, will be the special guest speaker at the Pecan Valley Republican Women’s August monthly meeting. The meeting will be held on August 15, 2024, at the Brownwood Country Club. Buffet opens at 5:30, program starts at 6:00 pm.

Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller, is an eighth-generation farmer and rancher, Sid Miller is the 12th Commissioner of the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA). Since taking office in 2015, Commissioner Miller has brought real, common sense reform to TDA and has devoted his time to promoting Texas agriculture, rural communities, and the great state of Texas. First elected in November 2014, Commissioner Miller was re-elected to a third term as Agriculture Commissioner in 2022, receiving 4.2 million votes – a state record for this office. He will be the first person to serve more than two terms as Agriculture Commissioner in over 45 years. Miller quickly earned his reputation as a staunch defender of Texas agriculture, constitutional freedoms, and individual liberties for all Texans. He is the state’s strongest advocate for Texas agriculture, Texas-grown products, and Texas-owned businesses. Commissioner Miller is a businessman who breeds and trains his own American Quarter Horses. In his spare time, he is a recognized rodeo cowboy who holds 24 world championship titles. He and his wife, Debra, have been married for going on 47 years. They have two sons, two daughters-in law and five grandchildren. They are active members of the Cowboy Church of Erath County, where Commissioner Miller also serves as an elder.
