BFD responds to overnight structure fire on Vincent

The Brownwood Fire Department issued the following press release regarding a structure fire that took place at 3:15 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2 at 1007 Vincent.

According to the press release, the Brownwood Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire in the kitchen at 1007 Vincent. Personnel arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the residence. Brownwood FD crews made entry and found a fire on the stove top. The fire was extinguished quickly, and crews began to ventilate the house. Fire damage was confined to the kitchen with heavy smoke damage confined to the kitchen and living room. Firefighters also rescued 2 dogs from the house. No injuries were reported. The Red Cross was on scene to assist the occupants.

Chief 9, Chief 92, Chief 93, Truck 9, Rescue 9 and Engine 92 responded from the BFD, with assistance from the Early Fire Department, Lifeguard EMS, Red Cross, Oncor and the Brownwood Police Department.

Units had the fire under control in 7 minutes and remained on scene 1 hour and 26 minutes. The fire caused an estimated $10,000 in damage.
