The Early ISD Board of Trustees have a special meeting scheduled for 7 a.m. Wednesday, July 24.

Items on the agenda include:

• Consider approval of the Superintendent’s Contract
• Consider and Discuss the Employee Handbook
• Consider and Discuss the Student Handbooks and Code of Conduct for the Primary School, Elementary School, Middle School and High School

On July 3, Dr. Joan Otten was named the lone finalist for the position of Early ISD Superintendent. Dr. Otten has served students in education for more two decades in small and large school districts. She started teaching English at Kerens High School and then Corsicana High School. She has also served as the Associate Principal at Mabank High School and English and Social Studies Curriculum Director for Corsicana ISD. Most recently, Dr. Otten has been in the Katy ISD in the role of GT and Advanced Academics Director.
