Pat Cathey, a dedicated Walmart employee for many years, passed away on June 27, 2024, in Abilene, Texas at Hendrick Hospice Care surrounded by his loving family.

Pat was born on February 11, 1972, in Mission Viejo, California, and spent his formative years in Brownfield, Levelland, and Abilene. He graduated from Cooper High School in Abilene and went on to become an integral part of the Walmart team where he made lasting contributions.

Known for his loving and outgoing personality, Pat cherished his family deeply. He enjoyed spending time with his relatives and watching NASCAR races while proudly supporting the Dallas Cowboys with his blue and silver attire. In his leisure time, he found joy in building model airplanes.

Pat is survived by his brother Corey Cathey and wife Lisa of Abilene; sister Marissa Rodgers and husband Mason of Abilene; nieces and nephews, Keeley Porter and husband Gary, Hannah Bennett and husband Kaden, Misty Sherrod, Robbie Cathey-Cochran and husband Dylan , Hunter Cathey and wife Kaylee, Wyatt Cathey, Braxton Cathey and Brayden Cathey; great nieces and nephews, Xavier Rodgers, Raeleigh Bennett, Colter Cathey and Huntleigh Cathey, Briggs Porter and Ryatt Porter.

He is preceded in death by his parents Terry Dan Cathey and Nancy Fletcher Cathey, his brother Justin Cathey, as well as his maternal and paternal grandparents.

The family will host a visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel. Family and friends are invited to a funeral service celebrating his life at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Lane Parker officiating. Interment will follow in the Brown Ranch Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.

Pat’s legacy of hard work at Walmart and the love he shared with those around him will forever be remembered fondly by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
