Ora Gravell “Nanny” , 83, of Bangs, Tx, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, entered into the arms of her Lord and Savior in the early morning of June 29, 2024. Her passing marks the end of a beautiful earthly journey and the beginning of an eternal life in heaven. Ora’s faith, boundless love, and selfless spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.

Ora Elizabeth Moseley Gravell was born March 6, 1941, to Cecil V Moseley and Amazon Elizabeth Windham Moseley. Ora was one of nine children. She married Harvey Howard Rutherford in 1961. She was a loving mother of four children, Mary Elizabeth King, Wanda Lee Mindieta, Harvey Dewayne Rutherford and Cecil Leon Rutherford. She later married Ed Gravell in 1972. For over 40 years, Ora dedicated herself to her work at Superior Cable Essex, where she was known for her exceptional dedication and passion for her job. Her colleagues admired her tireless work ethic, making her a respected and cherished member of the team.

Ora was a woman whose love for her family knew no bounds. She delighted in every moment spent with her loved ones, whether it was gathered around the table enjoying one of her famous pies, cakes, or batches of Christmas candy, or engaging in spirited card games that filled the room with laughter. Her talents in the kitchen brought joy to countless gatherings, and her affectionate nature made everyone feel special and cherished. Her sweet laugh and the constant sparkle in her eyes will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Ora’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and faith. As we remember Ora, we celebrate a life well-lived. She has left a lasting mark on all of our lives, and her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us.

Ora is proceeded in death by her father, Cecil V Moseley, mother Amazon Elizabeth, siblings, Lottie Maxine Moseley, Carroll Windham Moseley, Mary Frances Cranage, Nile Moseley, Hazel V Hawkins, Jimmy Clint Moseley, Lowell Moseley, Leon Moseley, her daughter, Mary King, and great-grandchildren, Jordan Kern, Haylee Kern, and Maria Kern.

Ora is survived by her daughter, Wanda Mindieta of Bangs, sons, Harvey Rutherford and wife Sulema of Brownwood, and Cecil Rutherford of Brownwood. Grandchildren, James (Tooter) King and wife Suzan, Justin Kern, Jeffery Kern and wife Nathali, Josh King and wife Heather, Jayla Chamberlain and husband Kolton, Tabatha Hyles, Chance Hyles, Brianna Cantu, Elexus Baugh and husband Taylon, Eliseo Cantu, Krystal Head, Kody Krause and wife Kenzie, Kaitlin Trowbridge and husband Danny. Her great grandchildren Dalon Owen, Serenity Hyles, Choyce Hyles, Karleigh Bolt, Emily Bolt, Kutter Krause, Klara Krause, Landen Hyles, Mercadies Hyles, Carter Hyles, RaLynn Chamberlain, Kaitlyn King, Trace Mcfaden, Hallie Trowbridge, Hanna Kern, Halle Kern, Kaysen King, Kenlyn King and Orin kern and wife Kandice. Great-great-great grandchildren, L.J. Kern, Willow Kern, Mia Kern, and Nadia Hyles

A Visitation will be Tuesday July 2, 2024, from 5-7 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home in Brownwood. The Funeral Service will be held Wednesday July 3, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home in Brownwood. The interment will be at Zephyr Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home in Brownwood.
