The students of Brownwood High School’s Emerging Technology class recently earned their FAA Commercial Drone Pilot licenses.

The Federal Aviation Administration requires any commercial drone missions to be planned and supervised by a licensed FAA Drone Pilot. The students studied topics such as FAA regulations, controlled airspace, aviation weather, aviation communication, drone theory, flight physics, and crew resource management. All students passed the FAA Commercial Drone Pilot exam and are now licensed commercial drone pilots. The newly licensed pilots are Lance Moss, Noah Pyle, Trine Baugh, Tyler Mitchell, and Jaiden Gordon.

Brownwood High School partners with Ranger College for the Emerging Technology Drone program. Ren Yantis is the BHS Emerging Technology teacher.
