Wednesday afternoon, Texas Bank – through the James and Dorothy Doss Foundation – awarded $137,000 in scholarship money to 19 local seniors who are bound for college in the fall.
Brown County Market President Tim Espinosa, Comanche County Market President Juvenal Sierra, and Bangs Branch Manager Mattie Byler were on hand at the 400 Fisk Avenue location in downtown Brownwood to make the presentations.
Espinosa stated that education is one of TexasBank’s top priorities, and the James and Dorothy Doss Foundation has awarded over $1.4 million dollars over the past 16 years to students. The ownership of TexasBank gives, through its foundation, scholarships to both local high school and college students.

Along with the scholarships, those who open a checking account at TexasBank will receive $200 in their account, and those who already have a checking account through TexasBank will have $200 added.
