Brownwood Lion senior pitcher Gavin Brandstetter has been selected to take part in the 2024 Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association All-Star Game, according to head coach Blake Sandford.

The game will be played at noon Sunday, June 15 at Dell Diamond in Round Rock.

In District 6-4A action, Brandstetter batted .389 with one home run, 10 RBIs, two doubles, and two triples. On the mound, Brandstetter posted a 3-1 record with a 2.18 ERA and 52 strikeouts in 35.1 innings.

The District 6-4A champion Lions (24-6-1), fresh off a bi-district sweep of Levelland, face Decatur (22-9) in the Region I-4A area round of the playoffs. Game 1 of the series is 7:30 p.m. Thursday with Game 2 at 4:30 p.m. Friday and Game 3, if needed, at 11 a.m. Saturday – all at Stephenville High School.
