The District 6-4A champion Brownwood Lions’ slow climb up the TXHighSchoolBaseball.com Class 4A state rankings has finally landed them in the Top 10.
On Monday, the Lions (22-6-1) appeared at No. 10 in the latest rankings, their high point of the season. Earlier this year, Brownwood reached No. 8 in the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association 4A Top 10, and in the most recent poll appeared at No. 13.
The Lions open postseason play in the Region I-4A bi-district round of the playoffs against District 5 fourth seed Levelland (14-14-1) this weekend in Snyder. Game 1 is set for 6 p.m. Thursday with Games 2 and 3, if needed, to be played beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday back in Snyder.
