Robbie Jean Vail, born on November 14, 1955, in Midland, Texas, peacefully passed away on April 26, 2024, in Abilene, Texas. She was known for her dedication to her family and her various roles throughout her life.

Robbie’s journey began with her education in Midland High School after her family returned from West Virginia where her father’s geology job briefly took them. She later started her career as a bank teller in Coleman before becoming the secretary for Mr. Willard. However, Robbie often mentioned that her most fulfilling and cherished job was being a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker for her family.

In December of 1976, Robbie embarked on a lifelong journey of love and companionship by marrying Steve Ross Vail. Their unwavering bond endured for forty-seven beautiful years. Robbie took immense pride in the family they built together.

Aside from her professional and personal life, Robbie had diverse interests and hobbies that brought joy to her days. She found solace in reading Bible scriptures and books, writing heartfelt letters, and taking care of the livestock which she tended to lovingly.

Robbie’s spirit will be carried on by those closest to her. She is survived by her loving husband Steve Ross Vail of Coleman; cherished children Anna Peterson and husband Dominic of Midway, Georgia; Matthew Vail of Bradford, Vermont; and six adoring grandchildren including Blair Peterson. In this time of loss, Robbie’s siblings Brenda Olive and husband Dub of Lubbock, as well as Roger Lee of Lubbock also mourn the departure of their dear sister.

In the hearts of all who knew her, Robbie leaves behind memories of kindness, dedication to family, and a gentle spirit that will never be forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to a graveside funeral service celebrating her remarkable life at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 3, 2024, at the Burkett Cemetery Pavilion. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman. The service will be a reflection of the love and legacy she leaves behind for all who had the privilege of knowing her.

May she rest in eternal peace knowing she was deeply loved and will always hold a special place in our hearts.
