Roy Lee Pannell, 76, of Coleman, Texas passed away in Abilene Thursday, April 18, 2024. A graveside service will be held at the Jenkins Spring Cemetery in Early, Texas at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 23, 2024.
Roy was born February 21, 1948 in Ephrata, Washington to Roy Marion and Dora Dellean Pannell. He graduated high school and attended college before joining the US Navy and serving his country. Roy was an artist. He was a creator and builder of all things. Roy was constantly coming up with ideas and held several patents to his ideas. Roy loved music and loved to play his guitar and sing. He was a very hard worker, 50 – 70 hours a week, Monday thru Monday, never stopping from the time he was a child until his passing. He was also a rambling man, living all over California, Arkansas, Texas and many others across the Nation. As time grew by, he returned to this area of Texas and began to strengthen his bonds with his loved ones. He leaned on the heritage of faith that his mother provided. He loved the Lord.
Roy is survived by his daughters, Vicki Shelly and husband Craig of Alma, AR, Cheryl Snowden and husband Allen of Van Buren, AR; his son, Paul Pannell of Coleman, Texas; grandchildren, Kayla Hartsfield and husband, Ki of Pearcy, AR, Blake Poole and wife, Jillian of Alma, AR, Chance Poole of Ft. Smith, AR, Cooper Snowden of Philadelphia, PA; Lani Elliott and husband Grant of Little Rock, AR; 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Karen Walker of Van Buren, AR, Donna Woten and husband Larry Woten of West Plains, MO; brother, Ricky Lynn Pannell of Brownwood and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Marion Pannell and Dora Dellean Pannell; and brother, Daryl Wayne Pannell.
