Allan Melvin Bowen, age 59, of Coleman, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 in Abilene. Family will receive friends at Heartland Funeral Home from 4 – 6 PM on Sunday, April 7 at Heartland Funeral Home in Early. Funeral services for Allan will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, April 8 in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Greenleaf Cemetery.

Allan was born on March 5, 1965 in Pearson, Georgia to Freddie Bowen and Annie Mae Merritt. He worked as a carpenter, in construction, and in landscaping for many years. Allan was a faithful member of the New Testament Holiness Church in Bangs. He enjoyed going to church, hunting, fishing, hiking, and playing with his dogs.

Allan is survived by his daughter, Jenny, who meant the world to him; his siblings, Cynthia Bowen Wade and husband Billy, Fred Bowen and wife Susie, John Bowen and wife Donna, Nicole Dennis and husband Howard, and David Bowen; and special friends who were like family, Barbara and Roddy Maddox. Allan is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
