ABILENE – Halfway through the 36-hole, two-day District 6-4A golf tournament, both the Brownwood Lions and Lady Lions find themselves in first place in the team standings.
The Lions, on Monday at Diamondback Golf Course, carded a composite score of 308 for a 30-stroke advantage over second-place Glen Rose (338).
Meanwhile, the Lady Lions posted a 376 team score Monday, giving them a 7-shot cushion over Glen Rose (383) heading into the final 18 holes.
Individually on the boys side, Hudson Reagan shot a round of 71 and is in first place, two strokes ahead of teammate Sir Bubba Jones, who is in second place with a 73. Caleb Modawell is currently fifth with a round of 81, Peyton Sharp and Will Stewardson are tied for sixth place with rounds of 83, and Cobe Walker posted an 87.
In girls action, River Jones fired a round of 84 and is tied atop the leaderboard with Jaci Lane of Stephenville. Tristyn Garcia’s 88 is fourth overall, while Riley Morton carded a 101 and London England chipped in a 103.
The tournament will conclude Tuesday back at Abilene’s Diamondback Golf Course.
