Arrests made for possession, tampering with suspected meth

The Brownwood Police Department issued the following press release Tuesday morning:

On Monday, February 12, 2024, at approximately 8 p.m., Officer Austin Carlisle conducted a traffic stop in the 1200 block of Brady Ave for a traffic violation.

When he approached the vehicle, Officer Carlisle identified the driver as 31-year-old Joshua MaShawn Sullivan of Brownwood. The passenger was identified as 23-year-old Victoria Lynn Brown of Bangs.

While speaking with the occupants, Officer Carlisle smelled the odor of marijuana emitting from inside the vehicle. Sullivan admitted to having marijuana inside the vehicle and a subsequent search revealed several containers of marijuana, marijuana residue and remnants of 2 marijuana cigarettes. Additionally, several baggies of a small amount and/or residual amount of suspected methamphetamine were located inside the vehicle.

Sullivan and Brown were both arrested and transported to the Brown County Jail where they were charged with Possession of Marijuana and Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance. Brown was also charged with Tampering with Physical Evidence due to her attempts to destroy/conceal baggies of suspected methamphetamine inside the rear seat area of the police vehicle.
