Funeral services for Leonard J. Sperrazza, 99, of Zephyr, formerly of Miami and Buffalo, New York, are pending.
He served in World War II during the Normandy Invasion of Omaha Beach; was a founding member of the Blinded Veterans Association; started Citizens on Patrol Crime Watch in North Miami Beach from 1978-2012; and was a past member of the Lions Club, Elks Club, and Kiwanis Club. He loved to play guitar, and go fishing and bowling. Donations in his memory can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
Survivors include his loving wife Marion of Zephyr; children, Leonard A. Sperrazza and Carl J. Sperrazza of Buffalo, New York, Joy Sperrazza-Blasucci of Dania, Florida, and Therese Mosier of Zephyr; grandchildren, Salvatore P. Sperraza, Jocelyn M. Bagar and Michael Washburn; great-grandchildren Miranda and Matthew Bagar; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Angelo and Lucy (Cuoco) Sperrazza; brother, John Sperrazza; sister, Rosemarie Baldelli; and granddaughter Lou Ellen Washburn.
