Dolores Jeschke Bush, age 87, was called to her heavenly home on Wednesday, January 17, 2024.

Dolores Jeschke Bush was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend. Dolores was born on January 2, 1937, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Ella and Mimmie Diehl. She grew up in Burnet and Hamilton, Texas. During her senior year of high school, three months before she graduated, she went on a blind date setup by her best friend and was introduced to the first love of her life, Gardine Jeschke. Three months later June 4, 1955, they were married and shared 22 years together in life, love, and laughter. They welcomed their son, Douglas Ray on March 9, 1956, and daughter, Julie Dianne four years later. They raised their children in Brady, and she was a resident for over 20 years. In 1977 Dolores lost her husband who battled cancer. Dolores then went to work in the office of Loadcraft for several years. While working there she met Leo Bush and they were married on March 15, 1980, in Brady, Texas. In the 1990’s, Leo’s work moved them to Houston, Texas and she was a homemaker. After retirement, they moved to Jewett, Texas and she enjoyed the country life. They were happily married for 44 years.

Dolores was a member of the Bandera Street Baptist Church in Houston, Texas while she lived there. Dolores joined the Corinth Baptist Church in Teague, Texas after moving to Jewett, Texas. Dolores was born-again Christian and loved The Lord with all her heart. We are greatly comforted in the assurance that she is now with Jesus, happy, healed, and whole.

Dolores enjoyed various hobbies including rock hunting, cooking, baking, dancing, painting, antiquing, bird, and deer watching.

Dolores was preceded in death by her late husband, Gardine Jeschke, her son, Douglas Jeschke, Sr., her mother, Ella Diehl Wyckoff, her brother, Bob Diehl, and her son-in-law, Ves Hardy III.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her husband, Leo Bush of Jewett, Texas, daughter, Dianne Jeschke Hardy of Austin, Texas, Step-daughter, Rhonda Buchanan (Barry) of Brownwood, Texas, daughter-in-law, Conise Jeschke of Brady, Texas, four grandchildren: Jennifer Hardy of Austin, Texas, Lisa Hardy of Austin, Texas, Travis Hardy (Alexandria) of Liberty Hill, Texas, Douglas Jeschke, Jr. (Kim Giles) of Moore, Oklahoma; five great-grandchildren: Laine Jeschke, Haleigh, Dianne, Noah, and Aspen Hardy, and several extended family and friends.

The family wishes to thank Pastor Carl and the Deacons of Corinth Baptist Church for helping in several home improvement projects on their house in Jewett. The family would also like to thank Hospice Austin’s Christopher House for their gentle and kind care of Dolores in her final days.

A graveside service will occur Friday, January 26, 2024, at 2PM at Rest Haven Cemetery in Brady, Texas. The service will be officiated by Pastor Carl Clark.
