Heather Rae Edmonds, 46 years old, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, January 4th, 2024. Heather was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend.
Heather was born on Wednesday, January 12th, 1977, to Brenda L. Hollums and Stanley L. Suttee in San Angelo Texas. Brenda Hollums married Joe E. Boyd who adopted and raised Heather as his own although Stanley Suttee was a big part of her life. Heather was blessed growing up with the unconditional love of both a dad and a father.
Heather lived in San Angelo until she graduated from Central High School where she was an achieved athlete and was awarded top athlete by both coaches and teammates in softball, basketball, and track among many other recognitions. Heather graduated with an opportunity to red shirt playing softball at Texas Tech but instead chose a scholarship to Cisco Junior College playing shortstop and outfield. She later earned a degree from Howard Payne University majoring in Art and Communications.
Heather was the mother of four children; Ethan, Natalie, Aaron, and Emma. Heather’s life was devoted to being a mother and her children’s biggest fan. To anyone who knew Heather knew she was an amazing athlete in her younger years who played volleyball, basketball, softball, running track, and golf. However, once her children became old enough to run, bounce, hit, or kick a ball her passion quickly became a love to support, encourage, and cheer for her children doing all they enjoyed.
It was undeniable how much Heather loved being on the sidelines or the bleachers cheering for her kids but a passion far greater was her passion for the Lord. Rededicating her life to Jesus in the waters of the Texas coast during Spring Break as a college student, she continued to live her life loving the Lord and sharing the love of the Lord with everyone she was close to.
Diagnosed with cancer in 2016 Heather spent several years fighting a good fight never once being mad, or angry at God, never asking “Why me?” Instead, she was only heard speaking of His goodness. Although Heather never gave up that she would be healed, she was often heard saying “Even if”, “It’s His story not my own.” Heather continued to fight the battle relentlessly until the end speaking of God’s faithfulness, always positive, encouraging, and kind to all who knew her.
Heather was survived by her children: Ethan, Natalie, Aaron, and Emma. Her parents Brenda Boyd, Joe Boyd, and Stan Suttee; her brothers, Michael Krammer, Johnathan Suttee; and sisters, Amanda Gonzales, Chasity Suttee.
Heather touched the lives of so many and will always be remembered for loving the Lord, loving her family and friends, and loving life. Heather’s family will host a visitation on Thursday, January 11th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Heartland Funeral Home in Early, TX. A Celebration of Heather’s Life will be held at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church in Brownwood TX, on Friday, January 12, 2024 at 10:00 am, followed by Graveside services at Johnson’s Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens in San Angelo, TX at 3:00 pm.
