Frances Kay Christy, 79, of Brownwood

Frances Kay Christy, a compassionate woman with a zest for life, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones in Brownwood, TX. There will be a visitation at the Family Home, 309 E. River Oaks Rd., Early, Texas 76802 Saturday, January 13, from 1:00 – 4:00 PM.

Frances Kay Christy was born on March 23, 1944 to Lloyd and Edith Overman in Nevada, Missouri. Kay brought joy and laughter to those who had the privilege of knowing her. Kay led a fulfilling life and found love later in life when she married her beloved husband, Lyle Christy, on September 19, 1988. Together, they embarked on many adventures, traveling and camping at Stockton Lake in Missouri, creating treasured memories along the way. Professionally, Kay dedicated over 40 years of her life to Key Industries in Nevada, MO. Her loyalty and hard work were greatly appreciated by her colleagues and showcased her commitment to excellence. In her free time, Kay found solace in the beauty of nature. She reveled in tending to her garden, nurturing vibrant flowers with her green thumb. She was also a skilled seamstress, crafting exquisite quilts and various crafts. Her talent for making Christmas decorations added a touch of magic to the holiday season, creating cherished memories for her family. Kay had a deep affection for her poodle, Abby, who brought endless companionship and joy into her life. She adored being Grandma to the puppies in the family referring to them as her beloved grandfur babies. Kay embraced her role as a loving grandmother, cherishing every moment spent with her family.

Kay leaves behind her dear daughter, Kristi Golden and husband Jim; sons, Kevin Palmer & Kenny Palmer both of Missouri; grandsons, Dalton Landers of Nevada, MO, Derek Parker and wife Ovene of Rich Hill, MO, Dustin Parker and wife, MaKenzie of Nevada, MO; 2 step grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Kay was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lyle Christy and her parents; sister, Glenda Overman; and brother, Ronnie Overman.

Frances Kay Christy’s legacy of love, laughter, and creativity will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will forever be remembered as a compassionate and cherished soul whose light touched the lives of many.
