ALVARADO – The Brownwood Lady Lions soccer team moved to 2-0 on the season with a 6-o victory over Lubbock Estacado Thursday to begin the Alvarado tournament.

“The girls played great, came out quick and didn’t let up,” said Lady Lions head coach Alexis Walker. “It was a great overall team win to start the Alvarado tournament.”

Fresh off a 2-1 home win over La Vega, the Lady Lions (2-0) scored first off a corner kick from Braycee Lee to Mariah Young for a header. The second and third goals were scored by Jacklyn Lewis with assists from Young and Alma Bernal.  Lee tallied the fourth and fifth goals with an assist by Reagan Ratliff on the first, and Young capped the scoring with an unassisted goal.

The Lady Lions will face Wichita Falls at 8 a.m. Friday and Terrell at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
