Jose Zacarias Munoz Lopez, age 64 passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023. His family will host a visitation Tuesday, January 2nd from 6 to 7 pm at Heartland Funeral Home in Early followed by Rosary at 7pm. Funeral Mass will be held 11 am Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at St. Mary’s Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Brownwood with interment to follow at Greenleaf Cemetery.
Zacarias was born on April 24, 1959 in Villa Union, Coahuila, Mexico to Francisco R. Munoz Romero and Maria De Jesus Lopez Capetillo. He attended school at Secundaria Tecnica #30 through the 9th grade. He loved watching television, playing the lottery and lottery tickets. Most of all he loved his family, nieces and nephews. He cherished and loved his God children, Giovanni and Monse Garcia Munoz. Zacarias was loved by his fellow friends and colleagues at the City of Early, and considered them all to be part of his family. He worked for the City of Early for 12 years until his passing. Zacarias was never married but had 11 nieces and 19 nephews; Gregoria Melchor, Edy Jr, Stephanie and Edgar Munoz, Patricia Huerta, Jauan, David and Jesus Gomez, Adrian, Xavier and Ismael Munoz, Jesica Felan, Jesenia and Uriel Ortiz, Jazmin Hernandez, Carolina, Misaela, Miguel Angel Munoz, Jacob, Julissa and Zacarias Munoz, Miguel and Marcos Mantos, Giovanni and Monse Garcia, and Ximena Ortiz.
Zacarias is survived by his siblings, Guadalupe Munoz of Abilene, Edy Munoz and wife Sonia of Brownwood, Edna Gomez and husband Juan of Brownwood, Francisco J. Munoz and wife Rosalinda of Brownwood, Margarito Munoz and wife Adela of Brownwood, Ana Ortiz and husband Ariel of Brownwood, Guillermo Munoz and wife Orelia of Brownwood, Petrita Garcia and husband Fidel of Brownwood, and Claudia Ortiz and husband Ramon of Dublin.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Maria de Jesus Munoz Lopez; father, Francisco Munoz Romero; brother, Juan Carlos Munoz Lopez and sister-in-law, Francisca Munoz.

Muñoz y su esposa Rosalinda de Brownwood, Margarito Muñoz y su esposa Adela de Brownwood, Ana Ortiz y su esposo Ariel de Brownwood, Guillermo Muñoz y su esposa Orelia de Brownwood, Petrita García y su esposo Fidel de Brownwood, y Claudia Ortiz y su esposo Ramón, de Dublín.
Le precedieron en la muerte su madre, María de Jesús Muñoz López; padre, Francisco Muñoz Romero; hermano, Juan Carlos Muñoz López y cuñada, Francisca Muñoz.
